Opalescent Skies of Amethera |

Entropia Universe |
Here are the most beautiful skies I've ever seen in Entropia Universe. I just discovered them two days ago, mostly thanks to a glitch which blocked my character from walking east - otherwise I wouldn't have ended up in the region where the skies look like this.
These are from somewhere south of Amethera 24497, 2562, 76, near the ocean. They were all taken May 13, 2009, around 6:14-6:16 PM EDT. The files below are all around 300-400 KB and in PNG format.
I can't decide which near-duplicates to arbitrarily exclude, so, I'll just include them all. Might as well, since some people might like some ocean in their wallpaper, while others might prefer just sky alone.
Five which are largely the same, with varying amounts of ocean visible:

Flower Basket |

Here's a lovely picture I found recently, reminiscent of spring - a pretty flower basket (or some kind of container, anyway) with yellow, whitish, and pink flowers. To see the image at full size, click the link that says "4256×2832 pixels".
I found that picture at Matt Mullenweg's excellent and cleverly-named site, ma.tt.
It certainly brightens up this dreary day. Oddly enough, it's actually snowing a bit today, here in Hubbard, OH.

I don't remember exactly where this place is, but, unless I'm mistaken, it was (and probably still is) part of the SL Public Land Preserve.

I can't actually remember whether or not it was taken at "sunset" or "dawn", but it looks like a sunset to me.
Here's a screenshot I took in Second Life way back in October 2006. It's a castle at a sim which no longer exists (or at least I couldn't find it last time I looked for it). If I recall correctly that sim's name was "Beyond the Prim".

Lava and Sea |

I noticed a particularly nice picture in this article: 11 hot pics and videos of lava vs ocean | ZME Science
It's the second picture, captioned "When lava meets water, it's even more dangerous because of the toxic gases; Kilauea, Hawaii". The rest are fun to look at too, but that one in particular is wallpaper-caliber, for me.
It looks better when I have my screen in 1024x768 resolution rather than 800x600, though.

Bay at Innsmouth |

Ordinarily that area would appear to be lined with buildings, but, when I turned my Second Life client's draw distance down, they vanished. Overall, a pretty wallpaper, though the reflections in the water could look a bit better and maybe ought to be photoshopped a bit. Looks fine in the thumbnail image, at least.

Starry Discordian Sky |

It's just a picture of the sky there, as it used to look sometimes - relaxing, gentle shades of orange, flecked with stars. I don't know if there's an easy way to make it look like that anymore, but, you could probably make some sky settings that look similar by fiddling with Second Life's WindLight graphic features.
