The second sign for Providence that we saw, probably taken Monday, August 14, 2000. The first one got by me, but seconds later, I was able to take a picture of the second one. I think we were in Connecticut, in which we saw basically nothing, and stopped nowhere but a hotel, which suited me fine, as I was quite eager to get to Rhode Island.

The thing I remember most about Connecticut is their drive-through bakeries, the "Bess Eaton" places, which had pretty good donuts.

Oh, yes, and then there was that odd group of protestors who looked like they were right out of the (and in their) 60's, gathered in the center of an otherwise deserted-seeming little seaside town, holding signs with pacifist slogans.
